Supracondylar
Nails are indicated for Supra Condylar fracture of distal femur
including pathologic fractures, malunions, failed distal femoral
osteosynthesis and distal fractures in osteoporotic patients. Retrograde
insertion of the nail from the knee stabilizes fractures below the
isthmus and facilitates return to good knee function.
This
method emphasises accurate reduction fixation of the articular surface
and provides a technique to stabilise the distal articular segment
to the femoral shaft.
Supracondylar
Nails are available in two types of design - Multi Holes and Five
Holes. The nails are available in diameter of 10, 11, 12 & 13 mm
and in lengths of 15, 20, & 25 cms.
